Slavery and Slave Life
Contributors: Diana
Abstract:
In Colonial America many people contributed to the growth of the colonies. Major contributors to America’s success were slaves. Despite their huge contribution, they were treated the worst out of many of the other workers in America. First they had to endure a brutal voyage called the Middle Passage. Once here, they had to endure the hardships of slave life. Slavery is a very shameful part of America’s history because slaves were forced to work against their will and were treated badly. During the 1700’s it was a tragic time for the Africans who were forced to come to America as slaves. Their treatment was horrible, and there lives were difficult for many reasons. This research paper explores the life of a slave in Colonial America and their amazing ability to survive and endure the cruelty despite the terrible hard ships forced upon them.
Some of the points adressed in my paper were:
Slaves were a very important part of America’s growth throughout the years. Slaves were taken from their home countries and forced into a world that didn’t make sense to them. They grew along with America, and kept standing strong. Slaves are part of what made America what it is today. Although slavery has been abolished the racism that came with them hadn’t, and former slaves still had to deal with it. It was hard but the slaves survived.
